Kristen Buttrum has a passion for providing nutrition education for her community’s Snap-eligible families. This includes providing direct education to elementary school-age children and teaching them to make healthier choices in a fun interactive environment. Kristen also works with area Snap-eligible adults giving them the tools for the best quality of life by teaching the MyPlate method of healthy eating and helping them make the connection between food, activity, and health.

Kristen has worked with the Snap-Ed program since 2013. In 2020 she was presented with the Individual Excellence in Outstanding Programming Award. Kristen also completed the Illinois Public Health Association’s Community Health Worker training in 2023.
