
Are you interested in becoming a beekeeper? Here's your chance to learn. Join us for the 5-part Beginning Beekeeping course.
Learn the basics of beekeeping including:
- Honey bee biology
- Beekeeping equipment
- Beekeeping through the seasons
- Working with a honey bee colony
- Products from the hive
- Registering your hive and apiary inspections
The course will take place on Wednesdays, September 15, 22, 29, and October 6 at the Morgan County Extension office in Jacksonville (104 N Westgate Ave.) from 6:00 to 8:30 pm.
There will also be a Hive Day on Saturday, September 25, from 1:00 to 4:00 pm, where participants will learn how to work with the different tools used in beekeeping and observe an active hive.
Pre-registration is required. Registration for the course closes on September 10.
