Area youth have a unique opportunity to build their public speaking skills with the help of the Greenville University Communications Department on February 17. All youth between the ages of 8-18 are welcome.
The workshop takes place on the Greenville University campus, in the Whitlock Music Center (398 E College Ave, Greenville, IL 62246) from 10 a.m. to noon.
10 a.m.- Welcome
10: 05-10:20 a.m.- Public Speaking in Real Life
10:20- 10:35 a.m.- Overcoming Anxiety with Public Speaking
10:35 a.m.- Break and Move to chosen sessions
10:45 a.m.-Session 1
Option 1: Voice Modulation
Option 2: Crafting Powerful Presentations (recommended for more advanced youth)
11:10 a.m.- Break and move to Session 2
11:15 a.m.-Session 2
Option 1: Body Language and Presence
Option 2: Persuasive Speaking (recommended for older youth)
11:40 a.m.- Break and return to Whitlock Music Center for Closing
11:45-Noon- Closing Skit/ Improv in Whitlock Music Center
This workshop is free, but advance registration is required by February 12.
