Join us for a fun and creative 4-H Puff Quilt Sewing Workshop on May 16th from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM! This hands-on workshop will guide youth through the process of making their very own puff quilt. Participants should bring their own fabric, and Illinois Extension will provide the fluff filling and sewing machines for anyone who needs one. This workshop is open to youth of all sewing experience levels—from beginners to seasoned stitchers!
Materials Needed:
- 2.5 yards of fabric for the top of the puffs (can be a single fabric or a mix of different fabrics), cut into 6" squares
- 1.5 yards of puff square backing fabric, cut into 5.25" squares (used to close the puffs)
- 1.5 yards of backing fabric
- 2 packages of double fold bias binding
We ask that fabrics be cotton or flannel, as other materials can be more difficult for beginners to work with.
The finished quilt will be approximately 45" x 45", making it perfect as a cozy floor blanket or baby blanket.
Youth under age 10 must attend with a parent or guardian.
