Dining Out without Filling Out Virtual Class Offered

Putnam County Community Center is offering a virtual class on Dining Out without Filling Out from Illinois Extension Nutrition & Wellness Educator, Susan Glassman.  These days, portions at restaurants are quite a bit larger than they were several years ago. One entrée can equal 3 or 4 servings! Studies show that people tend to eat more when they’re served more food.  Can you order-in or dine-out and practice a healthy lifestyle?  We will discuss the clues to healthy choices to look for on a menu, how to spot the extra calories, and how to estimate portion sizes with our “handy” guide.  Enjoy ordering-out or dining-out for a delicious, nutritious meal without any dishes to wash.

Dining Out without Filling Out will be offered on Friday, November 6, 10:30 – 11:15 AM.

Register online at https://go.illinois.edu/dineout or call 815-224-0889. After registration, you will receive the zoom meeting link to save in your calendar.  The day of the class click on the zoom link and watch the virtual class from the comfort of your own home.  Receive helpful tips and a handout.  The program is FREE and available to all.
