Meet Susan Glassman, your go-to Extension Educator for University of Illinois Extension. As an Extension Educator, her responsibilities center on Family and Consumer Sciences, specifically Nutrition and Wellness. She provides programming in chronic disease prevention and management, food safety, and food preservation. Susan helps individuals set SMART goals for healthier lifestyles that promote lifelong learning through making small changes. She teaches hands-on food labs, and nutrition topic programs throughout her counties. Susan promotes the walking guide which she co-authored. Susan holds a Bachelor of Science in Food and Nutrition, specializing in Dietetics, and a Master of Science in Health Education and Administration both from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale. She recently completed the qualifications and passed the national exam to become a Certified Health Education Specialist, CHES. Previously, Susan worked in fund development and volunteer and event management. She has found Extension to be her career choice for over 20 years. 

Certified in food safety; Susan offers Illinois Extension Certified Food Protection Manager and Serve it Safely (non-restaurant) Food Handler Training. She is currently enrolled in the National Extension Leadership Development Program (NELD) from Missouri Extension. 

Susan's work has been recognized through the following awards from University of Illinois Extension and the Illinois Extension Association of Family and Consumer Sciences (IEAFCS), and National Extension Association of Family and Consumer Sciences (NEAFCS). She is a member of the NEAFCS Ambassador Committee. She has received:
