The Fall series of the University of Illinois Extension’s Four Seasons Gardening Program, which focuses on environmental stewardship, home gardening, and backyard food production, gets underway the month of September. The public is invited to participate in this free webinar series. The first session of the series titled “Hardscaping Basics for Patios and Retaining Walls” will run on September 15th at 1:30 p.m. Do you have a vision of a retaining wall or patio in your yard, but aren’t quite sure where to start? Hardscape installation can cost thousands of dollars, and many homeowners are turning to DIY to save some money. However, there is a lot to know about proper hardscaping installation methods. Join Illinois Extension Horticulture Educator Chris Enroth as he talks basics of modular patio paver and retaining wall installation.

       Other topics in the Fall series include “Creating a Bottle Terrarium” set for Tuesday, October 13th at 1:30 p.m., and “History of Forest Pest Outbreaks in North America” set for Tuesday, November 17th at 1:30 p.m.
