There is still time to register for the final two programs in the series of live virtual presentations offered by the University of Illinois Extension Master Gardener and Master Naturalist programs and hosted by the LaSalle Public Library!
On Saturday, June 20th at 2:00 p.m., “Landscaping for Birds” will be led by University of Illinois Extension Master Gardener volunteer Natalie Martin. Find out what plants you can use in your garden to help support a vibrant and healthy local bird population! Natalie will discuss different plants, shrubs, and trees that can be used in your garden, as well as some best practices when attracting birds.
The series will conclude with “Backyard Birds” led by Lisa Sons, University of Illinois Extension Master Naturalist and Natural Resource Coordinator for Starved Rock State Park on Tuesday, June 23rd at 6:00 p.m. Backyard birding can be fun, enjoyable, and beneficial to nature! How can you attract our feathered friends to your yard? How can you identify what bird is on your feeder? If you hear a bird chirping but I don’t know what it is, how can you find out? All of these questions and more will be answered during this presentation by Lisa.
At the end of both presentations, participants will be able to ask questions via live-chat.
This program is free, open to the public, and will be presented in an easy-to-use virtual format. Interested individuals will need to email Rachael Blomquist at the LaSalle Public Library order to register and receive the link to each program and viewing instructions. You may also contact Meg E.
