Marshall-Putnam 4-H is hosting an Open House on September 28

Now is the time to think about joining 4-H for the 2019-2020 4-H year.  4-H members range in age from 8 to 18. Youth who are 5 to 7 years of age may join 4-H as a Cloverbud member.

To learn more about this program, Marshall-Putnam 4-H is hosting an Open House on September 28, from 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm, at the University of Illinois Extension, Henry office- 509 Front St.  There will be refreshments and giveaways.  Staff will be there to help register your child in 4honline.com.

When you join 4-H, you are joining the largest out-of-school youth program in the country. There are 6 million kids just like you across the county in 4-H, and 200,000 of them live here in Illinois. 4-H is in every county in Illinois. Wherever you live, 4-H is there. Depending on what your interests are, there is a 4-H program where you belong and feel welcomed!

4-H offers so much for you to do. You find the path that makes sense for you! Join a club or after-school program, attend camp, sign up as a 4-H Teen Teacher, participate in a 4-H event, have fun, explore your interests, build leadership skills and make connections to new friends, mentors, and future employers.

Marshall-Putnam 4-H offers many ways to be involved: traditional (multi project) community clubs, SPecial INterest (SPIN) clubs. Teen Teachers and school programs. There is a community club for every community in Marshall and Putnam counties. Marshall-Putnam 4-H offers many SPIN clubs. We currently have openings for Shooting Sports: Air Rifle, .22 Rifle, Archery, Hunting Skills and Shotgun, Aerospace, Agriculture, Robotics and Wind Energy & STEM.

4-H challenges youth to try new things, experiment in project areas they may enjoy, and explore opportunities. 4-H recognizes that youth are an important resource in our communities. 4-H does not just teach youth to be leaders someday in the future; 4-H places youth in meaningful leadership roles today and surrounds them with caring, supportive adults.
