Marshall-Putnam 4-H STEM announces Fall Activity Days Series

Marshall-Putnam 4-H STEM Program is excited to announce its fall 2021 activity day series.  All activities will take place at the University of Illinois Extension office, 509 Front St., Henry unless otherwise noted. All activities are open to youth ages 8-18.

Robotics Day - Saturday, Oct. 16, 10:30am-12:30pm - Youth will learn the basics of robotics programming using the LEGO EV3 robotics platform. By the end of the session, youth will have an understanding of basic programming commands as well as real-world applications.

Aerospace Model Rocket Day - Saturday, Nov. 13, 10:30am-12:30pm - Youth will learn the basics of model rocketry and have the opportunity to construct an entry level model rocket that can be launched.

The Power of the Wind Activity - Thursday, Nov. 18, 4-5:30pm @ Magnolia Library- Youth will gain an understanding of what wind power is and how we, as humans, can harness the power of the wind to our advantage. This program will be presented in cooperation with Putnam County Library District at the Magnolia Library Branch, 112 N. Chicago St., Magnolia, IL.

3D Design and Printing Day – Saturday, Dec. 4, 10:30am-12pm – Youth will discover the basics of 3D design using readily available and easily accessible CAD (computer aided design) software. By the end of the activity, those participating will have designed a simple but practical item that will then be printed using the M-P 4-H 3D printer.
