Nature Detective Camp offered at University of Illinois Extension

Youth ages 5 – 12 are invited to join University of Illinois Extension in a fun, educational Nature Detective Camp. The camp will be held at the U of I Extension office, 850 Thompson St., Princeton, on Wednesday, August 7th from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m.

This free half-day camp will offer hands-on activities for youth to learn about nature, birds, monarchs, and more. Youth will explore both indoors and outdoors, weather permitting.

"Nature Detective Camp will be a great opportunity for area youth to experience a variety of activities related to nature," Danielle Saletzki, University of Illinois Extension 4-H & Youth Program Coordinator shared. "Participants will leave with not only new knowledge of the world around them, but also handmade items to enjoy at home."

Interested youth may register by visiting http://go.illinois.edu/naturecamp or by calling the University of Illinois Extension at 815-875-2878. Space is limited to the first 20 registered. Deadline to register is August 1st. Illinois 4-H is the largest out-of-school youth organization in Illinois, challenging youth to "learn by doing" with fun, hands-on activities that teach skills for living.

If you need a reasonable accommodation, please indicate when registering. Early requests are strongly encouraged to allow sufficient time for meeting your access needs. For more information call University of Illinois Extension – Bureau, LaSalle, Marshall, Putnam Unit Office at 815-224-0889. Extension offices are located in Princeton, Ottawa, Henry and in Oglesby on the IVCC campus.
