University of Illinois Extension is excited to bring Abriendo Caminos, Clearing the Path to Hispanic Health, to our local area.  Join Dr. Margarita Teran-Garcia for her morning presentation, Measuring Up, Reducing the Risk of Chronic Disease.

The public is invited to attend the morning educational session from 8:00-10:00 am.  Stay for the day and become a volunteer teacher for the Abriendo Caminos program.  We are looking for Bilingual Spanish speaking volunteers, age 18 and older, who would like to work with Hispanic families in our community.  Volunteer Training is scheduled for 10:30 – 4:30 pm.    By joining with University of Illinois Extension as one of our volunteers, you will learn to teach about healthy nutrition, the importance of physical activity, and family mealtime.  The Abriendo Caminos program will be offered Mondays, February 24 – April 13, 5:30 – 7:30 p.m.

Join us on February 4, 2020, from 8:00 am – 4:30 pm at the Extension Education Center & Community Teaching Kitchen, 944 First Street, LaSalle.  For volunteer training, a working lunch will be served.
