Grow, Art, & Harvest: From Garden to Table (Gardening, Art and Food Preservation Series)

Youth will get hands-on with gardening this summer by planting seeds for tomatoes, cucumbers, green beans, and strawberries in a shared garden space. They’ll learn how to care for their plants throughout the season, building responsibility, patience, and teamwork along the way. Throughout the series, participants will also create art within the garden, adding color and creativity to the space. In September, youth will harvest their fresh produce and take part in a fun, hands-on food preservation workshop—learning how to turn their homegrown fruits and vegetables into jams, pickles, and more! This series blends gardening, art, and culinary skills for a summer full of growth and delicious results.

Open to youth ages 5 and older (as of 9/1/25)

Beginning May 5 at 5:300 p.m. at the Okawville Community Garden.
