The Bounty of Summer Local Foods Classes Offered

Learn how to make salads and dressings, side dishes, and even beverages with local foods to offer a new level of freshness. Join Illinois Extension Nutrition and Wellness Educator Susan Glassman in partnership with Bureau, Marshall-Putnam, and LaSalle County Farm Bureaus for a fun evening; attend “The Bounty of Summer “classes. To celebrate our local foods, Susan will offer a cooking demonstration and feature a presentation on how to make delicious recipes using fresh produce. You get to taste and enjoy the bounty of summer. Take home recipes and resources from Illinois Extension. Enjoy making fresh and delicious foods for your family.

This class is sponsored in part by an Illinois Farm Bureau Consumer Grant. At the course, put your name in to win a produce basket in the raffle drawing from the farm bureau. Get information on local growers who offer the freshest of foods. There is limited seating.  Register by August 14.  Classes are from 5:30 – 7:00 PM.
