Carnivorous Plant Workshop

Remember the Venus Fly Trap you always wanted as a child? It was amazing! Carnivorous plants are unique and fascinating plants that have captured people’s imaginations for years. Master Gardeners from the Bureau, LaSalle, Marshall and Putnam Counties University of Illinois Extension will be delivering a workshop discussing why carnivorous plants have evolved to ‘eat’ meat, the different ways carnivorous plants go about capturing their prey, as well as their unique care requirements.

The Carnivorous Plant Workshop will be presented at Graves-Hume Public Library, 1401 W Main St, Mendota, on May 23, 2023 at 6:00 p.m.  To register for this free workshop sign up online at https://go.illinois.edu/carnivorousplants.  Please feel free to contact Bettyann Harrison, Master Gardener/Master Naturalist Coordinator at (309) 364-2356 or bettyann@illinois.edu with any questions about this great opportunity for all ages.
