Join Abriendo Caminos and Clear the Path to Hispanic Health with University of Illinois Extension

Join University of Illinois Extension for Abriendo Caminos for Hispanic families. Abriendo Caminos is part of University of Illinois Family Resiliency Center, led by Dr. Margarita Teran-Garcia, PhD., MD, Assistant Dean, and Program Leader for Integrated Health Disparities for Illinois Extension. The program is sponsored by University of Illinois Extension, Bureau, LaSalle, Marshall, Putnam Unit.

Get ready to have fun with your family as you learn about healthy cooking, family wellness, and being active. We have trained volunteers to present Abriendo Caminos that are from our local communities. And the whole family's invited! Families receive a bag of fun give-a-ways to use during the program, and weekly supplies that include making a scrapbook and recipe ingredients for cooking.

Abriendo Caminos is presented weekly via zoom. Sign on with us every Monday evening, 5:30 – 7:00 PM through May 24, 2021.
Supplies can be picked up on Wednesdays from 4-5:30 PM at the Extension Education Center & Community Teaching Kitchen, 944 First Street, LaSalle, IL.
Register online  or call Susan Glassman, Extension Educator, Nutrition & Wellness, University of Illinois Extension at 815-224-0889 for more information.

If you need a reasonable accommodation to participate or need more information, please contact Susan Glassman. Extension offices are located in Princeton, Ottawa, Henry, and Oglesby on the IVCC campus.
