Pie Crust Workshop

University of Illinois Extension invites all youth, ages 8-18, to a pie crust workshop on Saturday, November 13, 2021 from 9:00-11:30 a.m. This workshop will take place at the University of Illinois Extension Education Center & Community Teaching Kitchen at 944 First Street in LaSalle. The cost for this workshop is free to all 4-H members and only $5.00 for non-4-H members. Come and experience this 4-H, hands-on learning opportunity and consider joining 4-H in your community. Please register by November 10, 2021. If possible, all participants are asked to bring a hair tie and or a hat to wear in the kitchen.

This workshop is perfect for youth, ages 8-18, who wants to learn how to bake pies from scratch! What a better time to do that than right before the Thanksgiving holiday? Susan Glassman, Extension Nutrition & Wellness Educator, and Beth Dellatori, 4-H Youth Development Educator, will teach participants about basic measuring skills, using a rolling pin to roll out the dough, forming the crust in the pie plate, and cooking the crust to perfection. Attendees will also learn more about 4-H, complete a fun craft, receive pie recipes to take home, and enjoy a snack (most likely pie!).  Please register soon to participate in this fun event!
