Pressure canner testing at upcoming local farmers markets

Enjoy the freshness of produce all year long when you preserve your food safely! Ensure your home canning is safe. Have your gauge tested annually to make sure it’s operating at the correct pressure. Inaccurate pressure can cause food not to be processed at a high enough temperature to kill harmful bacteria and toxins.  University of Illinois Extension will offer our free pressure canner gauge and seal testing at local farmers markets. Leave with our trusted resources and recipes and the confidence that you are preserving your garden bounty safely.
