We need a mix of physical activity for better health. Studies have shown that daily activity like walking provides many health benefits. Boost your mood, reduce stress, sharpen your focus, reduce risk for chronic disease, and enjoy better sleep with daily activity. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services recommends to Move Your Way, for adults, aim for 150 minutes of moderate activity each week, and kids enjoy 60 minutes of daily activity.
We are offering a virtual walking club challenge, July 29 – September 2, 2020. Set a step goal for yourself and join the fun; every step counts! Join University of Illinois Extension Nutrition and Wellness Educator, Susan Glassman. Count your steps with us and enjoy the health benefits from walking. For the virtual walking club challenge, we do recommend you consult with your healthcare provider before beginning an activity program:
