With an extensive background in higher education, Jamie Mahlandt now serves as a Financial Educator for Bond, Clinton, Jefferson, Marion, and Washington counties in Southern Illinois. She provides educational programming on consumer economics to the local community with an emphasis on financial management.

In her most recent role, Jamie served as a Financial Director/Executive Administrator at The University of Chicago. She was responsible for an approximate $15 million annual budget comprised of grant, contract, divisional, and endowment funding. Prior to this position Jamie worked as the Human Resources/Academic Affairs/Graduate Student Administrator for the Department of Microbiology at The University of Chicago. During her tenure in human resources, Jamie earned her Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification.

In addition to her administration roles, Jamie is also an experienced teacher and AmeriCorps Scholarship recipient, having instructed students at various levels from the public-school setting to higher-education and developed curriculum for afterschool programming. As an adjunct instructor at Kaskaskia College (2005), Jamie taught Introduction to Business at the Greenville Extension Center.

Jamie holds two bachelor’s degrees from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, a Bachelor of Science in Finance and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. Jamie also earned her Master of Business Administration degree from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. Additionally, Jamie is certified by The University of Chicago Graham School in Project Management Strategy (2007), and has a Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA) from Concordia University Chicago.
