Rotavirus

Thousands of children become ill from Rotavirus, a highly contagious illness that causes diarrhea, vomiting, dehydration, fever, and stomach pains. It is spread when a child or adult comes in contact with feces from an infected person, then touches their mouth. According to the CDC, transmission often happens when a person with rotavirus fails to wash their hands after using the restroom then touches food or surfaces.
