Calling all nature enthusiasts and amateur photographers!
Dive into the beauty of spring and showcase your photography skills in our Spring Awakening Photo Contest, part of the Explore Nature series. From April 1st to May 10th, capture the essence of spring in all its vibrant glory.
Whether it's blooming flowers, scenic landscapes, or playful wildlife, let your creativity blossom as you portray the season's awakening through your lens. This is your chance to get outside, explore nature, and share your vision with the world.
🌿📸 A Look at Nature Photo Contest 📸🌿
Here's what you need to know:
🔹 Eligibility: Open to amateur photographers aged 18+ in Coles, Cumberland, Douglas, Moultrie, or Shelby Counties.
🔹 Theme: "Spring into Nature" – showcase the essence and beauty of spring in your photos.
🔹 Photos: Taken between 2023-2024, no heavy editing allowed, just cropping.
🔹 Entry Limit: 2 entries per person via Facebook.
🔹 Facebook Entry Guidelines: Visit our Prairie's Edge Master Naturalists page, (this page) like it, share our contest post, then submit your photo in the comments of the original post with a title. Also, message us your full name and contact info.
🔹 Submission Deadline: May 10th – mark your calendars!
🔹 Judging Criteria: Creativity, composition, relevance to the theme, and overall impact. 🔹 Prizes: From half-price fee waivers for Master Naturalist Training to guided tours at Warbler Ridge Conservation Area and more!
🔹 Winner Notification: Via Facebook messenger or email by May 17th.
🔹 Rights and Permissions: We may share your photos for promotional purposes but you keep the copyright.
🔹 Acceptance of Rules: By participating, you agree to abide by the rules and Facebook's terms of service.
🔹 Modification or Termination: We reserve the right to make changes if needed.
🔹First Place: Half-price fee waiver for Master Naturalist Training for fall 2024 or 2025 classes ($125 value) and a guided tour of Warbler Ridge Conservation Area, Charleston, for you and two friends with a certified Master Naturalist. The half-price fee waiver is transferable upon approval. The first prize winner will also be featured in a press release.
🔹Second Prize: Basket filled with earth-friendly, nature-related items and a guided tour of Warbler Ridge Conservation Area, Charleston, for you and two friends with a certified Master Naturalist.
🔹Third Prize: Guided tour of Warbler Ridge Conservation Area, Charleston, for you and two friends with a certified Master Naturalist.
🔹The top three winners’ photographs will be displayed at Jackson Ave Coffeehouse, Charleston, in June 2024. All tours will be scheduled to suit both winners and guides best
