Learn about Japan and the traditional Japanese stitching technique that uses a running stitch to create decorative patterns and reinforce cloth. Mary Slider and Marie Samuel will be teaching the traditional sashiko that was used to reinforce points of wear or to repair worn places or tears with patches. Today, this running stitch technique is often used for purely decorative purposes in quilting and embroidery. This workshop is open to kids ages 10-18.

There is a $6.50 fee for the required materials. Please bring the exact change.
