Homesteading encompasses so many different skills. One we are going to explore is soap making using the cold process method. Soap is made with a few simple ingredients that you can find in your local grocery and hardware stores! This class will teach you how to make soap using the same timeless methods our ancestors likely used.

Program Topics:

  • History of soap
  • Soap-making methods (cold process, hot process, melt and pour)
  • Fats and oils and their soaping qualities
  • Using a soap-making calculator
  • "What can go wrong?”
  • Reading soap ingredient labels
  • Storage and packaging
