DIXON SPRINGS, Ill.— The annual Beef Field Day at the University of Illinois Dixon Springs Agricultural Center (DSAC) will be on Tuesday, July 30. A variety of topics on beef cattle will be provided.
Topics to be presented this year include: management and/or control of invasive plants (Chris Evans - Extension Forester, UIUC NRES), ticks (new and old species) and disease carried by them and provide an update on the anaplasmosis research (Teresa Steckler – Illinois Extension Educator), short presentations from the six I-BELIEF Fellows that work at DSAC, Orr Beef Research Center, and campus, and introduction of the new interim AnSci farm manager – Lucas Neira.
The program will start at 5 p.m. and concludes with a complimentary dinner prepared by the Shawnee Beef Association. There is no charge to attend the Beef Field Day; however, for an accurate food count please pre-register by Friday, July 26.
