Extension to Host Weed and Pest Management Webinar

MURPHYSBORO, Ill. – Extension will host a free webinar on April 7 to share weed and pest control tips for your home garden and landscape. What was previously scheduled as in in-person workshop at John A. Logan College will now be offered through online delivery.

Weeds, insects and furry friends can be helpful or harmful to your garden and home landscape. Sometimes they can be detrimental, wiping out everything in their path. Join Horticulture Educator Austin Little as he helps you navigate through these problems and implement the best control strategies during this free webinar. Topics include best management practices for controlling weed problems, landscaping to deter pests from the garden, weed identification and management demonstrations.

The webinar will be held on Tuesday, April 7, from 1-2:30 p.m. and will be hosted through Zoom video conferencing. Those without internet access can also listen through a dedicated phone line. Instructions on joining remotely will be provided after registration. The event is free and open to the public; however, registration is required. Register online at go.illinois.edu/uninvitedguests2020 or contact Maggie Ray at mro@illinois.edu.

Like others in our community, Extension is working to navigate safety issues while fulfilling work commitments as the coronavirus situation continues to evolve.
