Franklin County 4-H youth honored during achievement program

Franklin County 4-H members attend the achievement program.

Benton, Ill. – The 4-H Achievement Program is a time to recognize club members and volunteers for all their accomplishments. This year’s event was full of many awards and honored members for their hard work this past year.

The evening kicked off by recognizing members who created a secretary or treasurer book. Cadence Neitzel was recognized for having the best secretary book and Kayla Whitlow was recognized for having the best treasurer book.  

Cloverbuds
The youngest members were also recognized for their participation in 4-H. Franklin County Cloverbud members are Mattalyn Beers, Rheagan Drew, Norah Fowler, Charlotte Fowler, Kace Harbour, Bella Hughes, Mazie Hunt, Maylyn Hunt, Reilly Lipscomb, and Pearl Worley.

Graduating cloverbuds were also recognized and included Marshall Browning, Ramzie Fuller, Kate Newbury, Lukas Sweet, Ella Tepovich, and Logan Winka.

New Alumni Award
Members newly joining the 4-H alumni included Addie Dungy, Colton Payne, Alivia Poole, and Lucas Holman.

Experience Award
The Experience Award offers recognition for members who participate in activities and events throughout the program year. Members are recognized for their experience in the areas of participation, leadership, community service and project learning.

Outstanding 4-H member award
Drake Miller was recognized as the Outstanding Franklin County 1st year 4-H member. Kiowa Quillen was recognized as the Outstanding Franklin County career 4-H member.

Shooting Sports Awards
4-H members had the opportunity to participate in shooting sports this year which included shotgun, archery and rifle. Members that participated for their first year were recognized and include:

First Year Shotgun- Colton Coffey, Kollyns Dublo, Alex Edwards, Jaxon Hale, Baylen Harbour, and Colin White

First Year Archery: Colton Coffey, Remington Dorris, Stormi Dorris, Liam Edwards, Jaxon Hale, Baylen Harbour, Wyatt Harbour, Kate Kern, Trinity Owens, Billy Thomas, and Daniel Thomas

First Year Rifle: Trenton Brockman, Remington Dorris, Stormi Dorris, Alex Edwards, and Logan Stevenson

Members that advanced to the state shoot competition were also recognized and included:

State Shoot Shotgun: Beau Camden, Baylen Harbour, and Nate Kern

State Shoot Archery: Lukas Head and Nate Kern

State Shoot Rifle: Lukas Head, Hunter McDaniel, and Ben Stevenson

Dick Swope and Frank Kern Awards
Xander Walker and Ben Stevenson were awarded for attending the state fair.

Fee Waivers for 8-13 year old’s-  Korie Blades, Lucas Karnes, and Katherine Kern

Fee Waivers for 13-18 year old’s- Zeke Endicott and Nate Kern

Support Committee Scholarship- Lauren Bauman, Addie Dungy, Kolton Inglett, and Colton Payne

Rate of Gain Awards
Members who were awarded rate of gain were given monetary prize donated to 4-H by Kujawa and Batteau Public Accountants. Those awarded were:

Maylee Adams (Sheep), Trace Payne (Beef), Gauge Phillips (Swine), and Nate Ragland (Goats).

4-H empowers young people with the skills to lead for a lifetime. Through 4-H, youth complete hands-on projects in areas like health, science, agriculture, and citizenship in a positive environment where they receive guidance from adult mentors and are encouraged to take on proactive leadership roles.
