Jackson County 4-H youth place in 2023 general show

MURPHYSBORO, Ill. – Creativity and skills were recently on display as Jackson County members shared their annual projects at the 4-H general show. Youth were judged in visual arts, photography, food and nutrition, floriculture, and more.

4-H members that receive state delegation will be able to display their projects at the Illinois State Fair in Springfield in August. Blue ribbon winners that have won state fair delegation are listed below:

JuJu Ayres – Cooking 101

Verity  Ayres – Open-Source Computer Science

Maggie Beaty-Dingus – Metal

Brianna Carnes – Weather and Climate Science 1, Fiber

Lance Carnes – Rock Hounds 1

Elija Clutts – Creative Writing

Bryce Ehlers – Sportfishing 1, Vegetable Gardening Display, Vegetable Plate

James   Froemling – Pebble Pups 1

Oliver Fuhrhop – Sportsfishing 1

Juliana Jeremiah – Clay

Isaiah Jones – Woodworking 2

Ruth Jones – Food Decorating, Woodworking 1, Design Decisions, Cooking 401

Madeleine Myers – Pebble Pups 2

The youngest 4-H members, known as Cloverbuds, also received a green ribbon for participation in the fair. The 2023 Cloverbud participants for Jackson County were Israel Clutts, Austin Froemling, Logan Froemling, Johanna Fuhrhop, Edie Heins, Jenny Jeremiah, Colby Richelman, Remi Sager, Kamille Smith, and Aubrey Wilson.
