“Just Wing It” Pollinators Club –

Sunday, November 3 the Pollinator Club learned how to winterize the Beehives kept at the McHenry County Fairgrounds.  Why Winterize a beehive hive? To help increase the likelihood of survival of the bee colony through the harsh weather during the winter months.

“Bees have been getting through winter for thousands of years. Winter isn’t new to them, but our hives are.” By winterizing the hive, you will “help your bees survive the winter frost just like they used to in the old days.”  Information from: backyardbeekeeping101.com
