PINCKNEYVILLE, Ill. — Local 4-H youth from Perry, Jackson, Franklin, Randolph and Williamson Counties recently competed in the Livestock Quiz Bowl.
The day was filled with fun activities as youth were tested on their knowledge of feed, species, equipment and cuts of meat. This competition was a way to stimulate learning in a variety of livestock topics and prepare those that will go on to showcase livestock at the county fair.
Prizes were awarded to the top three scores within the junior, intermediate and senior categories. The 2020 winners include:
Juniors
- First place-Nickole Weber, Randolph County
- Second place-Anna Bathon, Perry County
- Third place- Kaleb Kellerman, Perry County
Intermediates
- First place- Amber Gass, Jackson County
- Second place-Alaina Smith, Randolph County
- Third place- Bailey Pearl, Perry County
Seniors
- First place- Harris Ehlers, Randolph County
- Second place-Matthew Koester, Randolph County
- Third place- Michael Hubert, Perry County
The community is invited to attend the livestock shows and other 4-H events at the fair June 13-18 at the Perry County Fairgrounds or July 9-15 at the Franklin County Fairgrounds.
