Walk & Learn

Make physical activity fun and walk with us!  Walking is an excellent and accessible form of exercise that’s free. Aim for 150 minutes per week of moderate physical activity or 30 minutes a day!

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, immediate benefits from physical activity include:

  •    Improved sleep quality
  •    Reduced feels of stress or anxiety (hello, mood booster!)
  •    Lower blood pressure

     

​​​​​​Extension has created colorful signs with activity challenges and nutrition and physical activity tips to encourage you to move more. Visit Carlinville Plaza and follow the signs around the Plaza, learn something new, and feel better with a casual stroll.

Find a Path

Currently, signs are located at Carlinville Plaza. Start on either side of the Plaza and don't forget the loop around Happy Dog Day Care &  Huff's Bakery.

5 laps around the Plaza is equal to 1 mile.

Join us for some healthy living during this walking club located at the Carlinville Plaza. Participants will learn health and safety tips and walk the Plaza for some fun and fitness! Each session will have an educational lesson at the start, followed by a walk around the Plaza. Open to youth 8-18 years old-families are also welcome to join!  Register.
