This event is a chance to “practice” for the real show.

Horse Arena, Fairgrounds, Woodstock IL

If you plan to participate in the 4-H horse Show on August 6 this is a great opportunity for you!

• Practice with your horse in a few classes
• Get advice from the horse committee members
• Meet your requirement of attending a horse warm-up with your horse in order to participate in the 4-h horse Show at the Fair.

Open to all enrolled in the 4-H horse project with a Green Sheet on file.

All classes are ages 8-19.

1. Showmanship             

2. Walk-trot horsemanship pattern class (English or western)     

3. Walk-trot-canter horsemanship pattern class (English or western)       

4. Walk-trot pleasure (English or western)           

5. Walk-trot-canter pleasure (English or western)             

6. Plug Race - Timed Event. Western tack/apparel required.        

7. Barrel Race - Cloverleaf pattern, timed event. Western tack & apparel required.            

8. Flag Race - Pick flag out of pail on one side of the arena, go around barrel at far end of arena & deposit flag in the pail on the other side of the arena. Timed event. Western tack & apparel required.

Those attending will need to be conscious of activity on the fairgrounds Monday.  Please pull straight through the gate and drive down to the horse arena. 4-h families will not have access to the Building D area and adjacent lots.  Please use porta-potties by the 4-H building & dairy barn, if necessary.
