Modern Homesteading
Whether you live in the third story of an apartment or on a 10-acre plot of land, learning homesteading skills can help bring you and your family closer to the food you eat. Collecting eggs, tending the garden, canning, drying herbs - all these things and so much more can help you in your everyday life to become more connected to your food, family, and community.
In this introductory course, you will learn essential skills and strategies to effectively manage your time while building your homesteading skill set. From planning and organization to prioritization and multitasking, this program will empower you to strike the perfect balance between homesteading tasks and everyday life commitments. Join us on this transformative learning experience, where you'll gain the tools and knowledge needed to create a harmonious and productive homestead lifestyle .
The first program* is an introduction to homesteading on January 18 at 5:30 p.m. at the Jackson County Extension office. Gain the knowledge and hands-on guidance to help further hone your skills in the art of growing, raising, and preserving your own food. The event is free and open to the public. Unless otherwise noted, all programs will take place at 5:30 p.m. at the Jackson County Extension office at 402 Ava Rd. in Murphysboro, IL.
