Get fresh eggs with your own laying hens.

Eggs from laying hens are often considered to be of higher quality, with better flavor and nutritional content, compared to store-bought eggs. Raising laying hens requires careful attention to their needs for housing, nutrition, health care, and socialization. Join Local Foods and Small Farms Educator Katie Bell as she shares information on:

  • chicken terminology
  • breeds and variety selection
  • housing and flock protection
  • nutrition requirement and more!

The program is free, but we ask that you register. Visit go.illinois.edu/LayingHens or call (618) 687-1727 to reserve your spot and receive a Zoom link.
