Get ready for the 2025 gardening season by joining us for Gardener’s Day! This year’s presentation will cover backyard composting, beneficial plants we commonly think of as weeds, and managing pests  with fewer or without the use of pesticides

Backyard Composting
Learn the basics of composting and how to transform kitchen scraps and yard waste into nutrient-rich soil.

Beneficial Plants We Love to Hate
From poison ivy to common milkweed, many plants commonly considered weeds can be attractive and beneficial additions to our landscapes. This presentation will discuss the cultural and natural history of some common weeds, their beneficial properties, and where they can be appropriately grown in our landscape.

Managing Pests Without Pesticides
If you're a gardener, pests are a fact of life. While pesticides have their place in controlling pests, they can have unintentional negative effects. Learn about the different ways we can manage pests in our landscape with fewer or without the use of pesticides.
