This program will focus on how good conservation practices benefit the environment and improve the value of your farming operation. Join us for an educational day learning about conservation practices to keep nutrients on your farm and the cost-sharing opportunities available in your area. Farm financial documents can be used as a decision-making tool when considering various management opportunities. Attendees will learn how to conduct a basic financial analysis using a few simple documents from your farm. All are welcome, bring a friend!

Topics will include:
  • Overview of the Nutrient Loss Reduction Strategy
  • Conservation practices that can save your nutrients
  • A walk-through of applying for cost-share programs
  • The cost of conservation
  • Lunch provided
  • Using farm financial documents to make tough decisions (Materials approved by Annie’s Project)
  • Illinois Extension and Illinois Sustainable Ag Partnership resources
