Attracting Native Bees to Your Own Backyard Pollinator Garden

Join Illinois Extension to examine Illinois' native bee species and learn how you can support native pollinators through pollinator gardens. 

The program will explore the following: 

• What are pollinators and the roles they play in the environment
• Illinois' native bee species and their importance as pollinators
• Gardening to attract pollinators
• The challenges and successes of the Wayne County pollinator garden

Participants are encouraged to download the iNaturalist app on their device prior to the program to practice identifying native plants in the pollinator garden. Attendees are also encouraged to wear comfortable shoes and to dress for the weather.
