Our local shooting sports programs help youth get outdoors, explore their interests, and build life skills such as responsibility, decision-making, discipline, goal setting, teamwork, and safety.
Youth in the various shooting sports disciplines learn archery or firearm safety and responsible handling and use. Programming is run by caring adult volunteers who are certified instructors in their disciplines. Learn more about the program.
In addition to the 4-H enrollment fee, youth who participate in shooting sports pay an additional materials fee. Youth of the proper age (by Sept. 1 of the start of a 4-H year) can participate in the following local 4-H Shooting Sports disciplines:
- Air Rifle
- Archery
Want to help youth learn these skills?
Our program depends on trained volunteer leaders to provide instruction and program management. We also rely on finding low- to no-cost practice locations. Contact local staff with potential meeting location suggestions.
