Ag Literacy (commonly referred to as Agriculture in the Classroom) is a statewide program that promotes agriculture education in the elementary classroom. Our goal is to help students, teachers, and the general public gain a greater awareness of the role of agriculture in the economy and society.  Our agricultural education efforts encompass a partnership of many, specifically representing the following:

  • University of Illinois Extension Logan, Menard, Sangamon Unit
  • Logan, Menard, and Sangamon County Farm Bureaus
  • Various commodity groups throughout the state.
  • And with the help and support of many businesses and individuals in the area
