University of Illinois Extension is excited to team up with Grant and Casey Bauman to host the fourth and final twilight meeting at Bauman Family Farms in Vienna, on Monday, August 16, 2021, starting at 6 p.m. University of Illinois Extension Educators Bronwyn Aly, Katie Bell, and Nathan Johanning have been partnering with area farms over the past seven years to provide evening “twilight meetings” to highlight and demonstrate diverse farming enterprises across southern Illinois.
Throughout the evening, Grant and Casey will discuss the regenerative grazing practices they use on their farm including, building soil health and quality forage, fencing and water systems, and herd management. They will also share information on management and equipment used during pasture moves throughout the season. There will be an opportunity to tour some of the fields and see first-hand the soil benefits of regenerative grazing practices and discussion of various management practices. Equipment will be on display as a part of the discussion including poly wire reels, step-in posts, and fence chargers. There are many opportunities to benefit and incorporate regenerative grazing into any production system! Anyone involved or interested in local food production or learning more about farming in our region is encouraged and invited to attend.
