LAWRENCEVILLE, Ill. – If you’re a woman in agriculture looking to further your professional development and advance your skill sets, the Annie’s Project program was designed for you! Classes will be held at The Armory/Community Center located at 1522 Porter Avenue, Lawrenceville, IL, 62439. Classes will meet from 5:30-8:30 p.m. on the evenings of March 20, 25, and 27 and from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, March 29, completing the 18-hour program. A light meal will be provided at each session.

The Annie’s Project program is facilitated by Illinois Extension in partnership with Annie’s Project, a nonprofit organization based in Woodlawn, Illinois, focused on upskilling women in agriculture. Graduates of the class can expect to network with peers, connect with local government agencies and businesses, gain strategies that support personal development, and become more skilled in several areas of agriculture risk management. Experts will also present on financial planning, managing farm stress, production and soil health, and more.

“No matter the skill level or experience, all women in agriculture deserve support and resources. Annie’s Project was designed to enhance women's lives and knowledge base no matter where they are in their agricultural career,” says Katie Bell, Illinois Extension local food systems and small farms educator.

There is a $25 fee to enroll in the program. Please contact Katie Bell at klbell@illinois.edu to inquire about financial assistance and scholarship opportunities. Registration for Annie’s Project is available online at go.illinois.edu/AnniesProject25. Registration closes on March 14, and space is limited.

For additional questions or to register via phone, contact the Richland County Extension office at 618-395-2191. If you need a reasonable accommodation to participate, please contact Katie Bell at klbell@illinois.edu. Early requests are strongly encouraged to allow sufficient time to meet access needs.
