Extension has been busy offering 21 Farmer testing opportunities!
We have been working with the Illinois Department of Agriculture and local Farm Bureaus to provide in-person private and commercial pesticide applicator testing in our 5-county unit. Testing has been conducted in all 5 of our counties: Edwards, Lawrence, Richland Wabash, and Wayne. The testing is needed in order to obtain a license to purchase Ag chemicals for farm use. Area farmers will have the opportunity to do their pesticide testing locally and are welcome to attend a surrounding county if the testing day is more convenient. We have had a great turnout for these testing events this year.
Additional in-person testing will be offered in March in the following counties:
Edwards County: March 3, 4, 24 and 25 (Albion COUNTRY Financial Hall 10 a.m. -1 p.m.)
Wayne County: March 17 & 18 (Cisne Community Center 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.)
Due to COVID you must register prior to testing. You may do so online at https://www2.illinois.gov/.../Pages/in-person-testing.aspx or by calling your local Extension office and we will assist you in registering.
Please bring a basic calculator, pencil, and wear a face mask the day of testing.
Need a book to study? We can certainly help you with that as well. Our offices are currently closed, but you can simply call your local Extension office and leave a message. Staff will return your call and plan with you to get books! We are here to help.
Extension also offers farm record books, and these can be purchased as well from your local Extension office.
University of Illinois Extension provides equal opportunities in programs and employment. If you need a reasonable accommodation to participate, please contact the Edwards Co. Extension office at 618.445.2934. Early requests are strongly encouraged to allow sufficient time for meeting your access needs.
