Extension to Host Food Preservation Workshop

Murphysboro, Ill.- Wouldn’t it be nice to enjoy your garden or farmers market produce all year long? Whether you are just starting out or updating your food preservation knowledge, join University of Illinois Extension nutrition and wellness educator, Mary Liz Wright, for this seasonal program. In addition to receiving the latest, most up-to-date food preservation information, you will also be able get your dial gauge pressure canner tested for accuracy as it should be tested once a year.

This course will take place on Thursday, June 27 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and will be held at the Jackson County Extension office at 402 Ava Road, Murphysboro, IL 62966. This program is for beginners as well as seasoned canners. The workshop is free and open to the public, however, registration is required.
