Jackson County 4-H Youth Place in 2024 General Show

MURPHYSBORO, Ill. – Creativity and skills were recently on display as Jackson County members shared their annual projects at the 4-H general show. Youth were judged in visual arts, photography, food and nutrition, floriculture, and more.

4-H members that receive state delegation will be able to display their projects at the Illinois State Fair in Springfield in August. Blue ribbon winners that have won state fair delegation are listed below:
Brianna Carnes – Woodworking and Scrapbooking
Lance Carnes – Geology 
Isaac Fredrickson – Visual Arts Paper 2-D
Caleb Gao – Passport to the World
Julie Heins – Floriculture and Chalk Carbon Pigment A
Kaylin Heins – Floriculture, Family Heritage, and Heritage Art
Isaiah Jones – Visual Arts Metal
Ruth Jones – Family Heritage and Innovation Fishing and Wildlife
Madeleine Myers – Food Preservation Canning
Greta Snyder – Food Decorating, Ready For Life Meteorology and Ceramics
Marriah Trammell – Chalk Carbon Pigment A
Brayden Wilson -- Leadership
Ethan Wonble – Tractor, Build Your Future, Computer Generated Art, Beekeeping 3 and Animal Science

Those selected as alternates for the state fair are listed below:

Greta Snyder – Chalk Carbon Pigment A

The youngest 4-H members, known as Cloverbuds, also received a green ribbon for participation in the fair. The 2024 Cloverbud participants for Jackson County were Isaac Marquith, Aniyah McHenry, Zuri McHenry, and Kamille Smith.
