Edwards County 4-H Dog Show Results

                In the Dog Care portion of the Edwards County 4-H Dog Show held on Tuesday, July 16, 2019.   Olivia Bosecker was named the Dog Care Champion. She was awarded a trophy donated by Lyndle and Charlotte Barnes.  Natalie Shelby was the Reserve Dog Care Champion. 

                In the Obedience portion, Natalie Shelby was named Beginning Novice II Champion and received a trophy donated by Meridith/ Ingram Funeral Home.   Olivia Bosecker received the Beginning Novice II Reserve Champion ribbon.  In the Preferred Novice class, Elizabeth Spillman won the Champion trophy donated by Albion Moose Family Center. Kaylie Vallette was awarded the Reserve Champion ribbon, in the Preferred Novice class.  Sam Bogle was named Novice Champion and received a trophy donated by Jerry Crisel.  Thank you to our judges Shawna Zeilstra and Bree Kirkman for judging our show.   

Edwards County Equine Show

The Edwards County Equine show was held Friday, July 19.  The Senior Showmanship winner was Brooklyn Hazel, who received a trophy donated by Bailey Enterprises, Inc.  In the Junior division, Olivia Bosecker was the Showmanship winner, taking home a trophy donated by Les Smith Atty.  The Novice division belt buckle, donated by Bunting Quarter Horse, Don & Nancy Bunting was awarded to Harrison Lovellette.  Thank you to our judge David Shain from Mt. Carmel, IL for judging the show and to Dustin Hawkins Integrity Real Estate for providing the sound truck.   

Edwards County 4-H Rabbit Show Results

            The Edwards County 4-H Rabbit show was held Sunday, July 21 at the Exhibition Building.  In the New Zealand division, Elizabeth Spillman showed Best of Breed and Harrison Lovellette showed the Best Opposite. In the Californians, Kaylie Vallette was named Best of Breed and Best Opposite.  In the Mini-Rex division, Jace Fisher showed Best of Breed and Ashlyn Wise received the Best Opposite.  In the Lops, Jace Fisher showed Best of Breed and Best Opposite.   In the Other Pure Breeds Small division, Kaylie Vallette was the Best of Breed and Best Opposite.  In the Other Pure Breeds Large division, Ashlyn Wise was named Best of Breed and Best Opposite.  In the Mixed Breeds division, Hayley Perry showed the Best of Breed and Madison Glover received the Best Opposite.

            The Grand Champion Rabbit was shown by Ashlyn Wise.  She received a trophy donated by Steve Thomson, Country Insurance.  The Reserve Grand Champion Rabbit was shown by Jace Fisher.

            In the Market class, Grand Champion Market Rabbit was awarded to Brayden Childers.  He received a trophy donated by Herschel Johnson Implement, Inc.  The Reserve Grand Champion Market Rabbit was shown by Ashlyn Wise.  Chloe Iles was awarded the Rabbit Showmanship trophy donated by Jo Rector in Memory of Aunt Phid.  Thanks to Tom Green for judging the show. 

2019 Edwards County 4-H Small Pets

           The Edwards County 4-H Small Pets Show was held on Sunday, July 21st.  Don St. Ledger was the judge.   Xander Hawkins was chosen as the Jr. Small Pets Champion and received the trophy presented by Colyer Coffeehouse and Taylor Bogle was chosen as the Sr. Small Pets Champion and received the trophy from Riggs Family Care Pharmacy.

2019 Edwards County 4-H Poultry Show Results

                The Edwards County 4-H Poultry show was held Monday evening, July 22.  In the white egg layers division, Jace Fisher showed the best of show rooster, Natalie Shelby had the best of show hen, Cy Nelson had the best of show cockerel, and Ashlyn Wise had the best of show pullet.  In the colored egg layers, Ashlyn Wise showed the best of show rooster, Amelia Fearn had the best of show hen, Cooper Lynch had the best of show cockerel, and Austin Wise best of show pullet.  In the fancy breeds division, Jace Fisher showed the best of show rooster, Ashlyn Wise had the best of show hen, Natalie Shelby showed the best of show cockerel and the best of show pullet.  Cheyenne Summerfield showed the best of show turkeys and the best of show guineas, Madi Glover best of show waterfowl, and Natalie Shelby best of show game birds.  The best of show young pen went to Austin Wise.  The best of show older pen went to Ashlyn Wise.  The barnyard special went to Cheyenne Summerfield.  The Grand Champion Over All Breeds was shown by Ashlyn Wise, Jace Fisher received the Reserve Grand Champion Over All Breeds. 

                In the market class, Austin Wise was named Grand Champion and received a trophy donated by Countryside Vet Clinic. Cooper Lynch was named Reserve Grand Champion.  One dozen eggs best of show went to Jackalyn Fritchley.  Ashlyn Wise won the Showmanship class, which was judged on presentation and knowledge.  She received a trophy donated by Farm Credit. 

2019 Edwards County 4-H Swine Show

            The Edwards County 4-H Swine show was held Tuesday, July 23rd. Grand Champion and Reserve Grand Champion Swine Female went to Tori Thompson, Stumpy Hill Farm, donated the trophy. Tori, also, showed the Grand Champion Crossbred Gilt, Citizens National Bank of Albion, donated the Grand Champion trophy.  The Reserve Grand Champion, for Crossbred Gilts was shown by Addison Anderson.

            In the Crossbred Gilt division, the following exhibitors showed the Champion and Reserve by weight classes: Drew Roosevelt, Champion heavy weight and Reserve Champion heavy weight; Avery Roosevelt, Champion middle heavy weight: Ava Anderson Reserve Champion middle heavy weight; Avery Roosevelt, Champion light heavy weight; Brayden Sanford, Reserve Champion light heavy weight; Addison Anderson, Champion middle weight and Reserve Champion middle weight; Tori Thompson, Champion light weight gilt and Reserve Champion light weight gilt.

           In the market barrow division, the following exhibitors showed the Champion and Reserve by weight classes:  Darcy Clodfelter, Champion heavy weight; Tyger Clodfelter Reserve Champion heavy weight; Tori Thompson, Champion middle heavy weight; Laney Stephens, Reserve Champion middle heavy weight; Tori Thompson, Champion light heavy weight; Allison Stephens Reserve Champion light heavy weight; Drew Roosevelt, Champion middle weight; Ava Anderson, Reserve Champion middle weight; Allison Stephens, Champion light middle weight; Cheyenne Summerfield, Reserve Champion light middle weight; Lillian Nussmeyer, Champion light weight; Ava Greathouse, Reserve Champion light weight.  The Grand Champion Market barrow trophy, donated by Edwards County Farm Bureau Foundation, was presented to Tori Thompson.  The Reserve Grand Champion barrow went to Allison Stephens. 

            In the showmanship division, Allison Stephens earned the Senior Showmanship trophy donated by Lawrence and Mary Hurley, Tori Thompson won the Junior Showmanship trophy donated by Edward Jones Investments – Brian T. Mewes, Investment Representative, and Braelyn Troyer won the Novice belt buckle donated by Sheila Schnepper, Edwards County Supervisor of Assessments. 

2019 Edwards County 4-H Goat Show Results

            The Edwards County 4-H Goat Show was held Tuesday afternoon, July 23.  In the Dairy Goat division, Parker Biggs showed the Grand Champion Dairy Female.  She received a trophy donated by the Edwards County Ag in the Classroom. Campbell Biggs, showed the Reserve Grand Champion Dairy Female. In the Meat Goat division, Allison Stephens showed the Grand Champion Female and Laney Stephens showed the Reserve Grand Champion Meat Female. Allison received the trophy donated by the JTK Services Inc. The Grand Champion Market Goat was shown by Brooklyn Hazel, who received a trophy donated by Wm. Nobbe & Co. Inc.  The Reserve Grand Champion Market Goat was shown by Hayley Buerster.

            In the Showmanship division, the Senior Showmanship trophy donated by Terry Mewes and Ashley Craig was awarded to Hayley Buerster.  Ellie Marks won the Junior Showmanship trophy donated by Meridith/Ingram Funeral Home.  In the Novice Class, Parker Biggs won the belt buckle donated by Countryside Vet Clinic.

Edwards County 4-H Sheep Show Results

            The Edwards County 4-H Sheep Show was held Tuesday, July 23.  In the Cheviot Division JW Simms-Reisner showed the Champion and Reserve Grand Champions in the Ram and Ewe classes. Davina Witte had the Champion and Reserve Champion in the Polled Dorset Ewe class. JW Simms-Reisner showed the Champion and Reserve Champions in the Montadale Ram and Ewe classes.  In the Suffolk Ewe class Davina Witte showed the Champion and Reserve Champion. The Champion and Reserve Champion Crossbred Ram was shown by Aly Williams. Halley Kocher showed the Champion Crossbred Ewe and the Reserve Champion went to Aly Williams.

            The Grand Champion Ram was awarded to JW Simms-Reisner, and he received a trophy donated by Edwards County Farm Bureau Young Leaders.  The Reserve Grand Champion Ram was shown by Aly Williams.

            The Grand Champion Ewe was shown by Davina Witte.  JW Simms-Reisner showed the Reserve Grand Champion Ewe.  Davina received the trophy donated by Three Rivers Veterinary Clinic.    In the Market Class, Halley Kocher showed the Grand Champion Market Lamb.  The trophy was donated by Farm Credit Services of Illinois.  The Reserve Grand Champion Market Lamb was shown by Olivia Bosecker.

            In the Showmanship Classes, the Senior division winner was Halley Kocher, who received a trophy donated by Edwards County Farm Bureau Women’s Committee.  Aly Williams won the Junior division, she received a trophy donated by Farm Credit Services of Illinois. 

Edwards County 4-H Bucket Calf & Beef Show Results

            The Bucket Calf and Beef Shows were held Wednesday, July 24 at the 4-H arena on the Edwards County Fairgrounds.  The Champion Beef Bucket Calf was shown by River Greathouse, who received a trophy donated by Citizens National Bank of Albion.  The Champion Dairy Bucket Calf was shown by Zoie Ankenbrand, who received a trophy donated by First Bank Grayville.

Zoie Ankenbrand received the Showmanship Belt Buckle, donated by Citizens National Bank of Albion. 

In the Beef Show, Allison Stephens showed the Champion Hereford Female and received a trophy donated by Speir Chiropractic, Inc.  Wyatt Greathouse showed the Reserve Champion Hereford Female. In the Angus Breed Laney Stephens showed the Champion Angus Female, receiving a trophy donated by Ray Livesay-Windy Hill Farm.  The Champion Shorthorn Female trophy, donated by Edwards County Fair Association, was awarded to Davina Witte.  Brayden Sanford showed the Reserve Champion Shorthorn Female.  In the All Other Registered Breeds Female, Davina Witte won the Champion trophy donated by 5B Simmental. The Champion Crossbred Female was shown by Braelyn Troyer and the trophy was donated by City of Albion.  Brayden Sanford received the Reserve Champion.  The Grand Champion Beef Female trophy, donated by Ray Livesay – Windy Hill Farm, was awarded to Laney Stephens.  The Reserve Grand Champion Beef Female was showed by Allison Stephens. 

            The Grand Champion Market Steer was shown by Chase Shelton.  He received a trophy donated by the Edwards County Farm Bureau, Board of Directors.  Jaxon Kelsey showed the Reserve Grand Champion Market Steer.

            In the Showmanship Division, Laney Stephens was awarded the Senior Showmanship trophy donated by the Albion Veterinary Clinic.  The Junior Showman was Zeb Ankenbrand, who won a trophy donated by the Bone Gap Cardinals 4-H Club, In Memory of LuLu Kelsey.  The Novice Showmanship belt buckle, donated by Country Financial – Doug Hortin, Agent was awarded to Braelyn Troyer.
