TAYLORVILLE, Ill. – Local staff at University of Illinois Extension of Christian County nominated Randy Miller of WTIM Radio as a 2023 Community Partner. WTIM was selected for its continued support of all University of Illinois Extension programs. Each week they allow Extension staff to join their live radio show, run our media releases in a timely manner and even attend our events to live stream. Our 4-H members also enjoy being interviewed on the radio by WTIM staff at the 4-H General Show and Livestock Shows during the fair. “Randy and his staff are always helpful and inform Christian County residents of our programs. Having continued support from a local radio program keeps Illinois Extension relative in today’s news,” said Cassie O’Connell, Extension marketing and communications program coordinator.

University of Illinois Extension serving Christian, Jersey, Macoupin, and Montgomery counties are exceptionally proud to be able to provide this award to Randy Miller and WTIM Radio and to thank them for their service to Extension. “Community partners play a vital role in the outreach efforts of Extension. They help with financial support, host sites for programs, and promote our programs to the public and those they serve,” said Amanda Cole, Extension county director.

This award is sponsored by the Extension Council of University of Illinois Extension, serving Christian, Jersey, Macoupin, and Montgomery counties. The council recognizes a community partner throughout our four counties each year. Extension Council is a volunteer board that serves in an advisory role cooperating with Extension staff in planning, promoting, developing, implementing, evaluating, and financing an Extension program designed to meet the needs, interests, and resources of the local communities.
