Randolph County 4-H youth celebrate high honors at achievement night

Through 4-H, youth learn leadership skills and can explore their interests through projects during the 4-H year. Achievement night is an opportunity to recognize 4-H club members and volunteers for all of their accomplishments. The event highlighted some of the youth in our community for the work they have done over the past year.

The evening kicked off by recognizing 4-H clubs that achieved at least 11 out of the 14 standard requirements to receive the club achievement award. Those honored were: 

Scotland Raiders, Country Crusaders, Prairie Schooners, Critter Club, Ruma Roadrunners, Federation, and WineHill Toppers.

President’s Award/Vice President’s Award
The President’s Award and Vice President’s Award is given to members who take on the responsibility of a leadership role within their club. Those honored with the President’s Award for their club included:
Logan Lehde, Micah Sattler, Alaina Smith, Liam Renner, Loughlyn Kurtz, Khloe Geppert, and Madison Neace.

Those honored with the Vice President’s Award for their club were:
Loughlyn Kurtz, Ella Hanger, Lilly Severson, Nickole Weber, Lilly Severson, and Hayden Blair.

In addition, Nikole Weber was given the Secretary’s Award and Monabella Wahl received the Treasurer’s Award.

Junior Leader Recognition
Junior leaders were recognized for stepping up and taking on additional responsibilities, helping with 4-H Federation and county activities. Youth recognized were:
Alania Smith, Breanna Autry, Chase Smith, Logan Lehde, Loughlyn Kurtz, Nickole Weber, and Isac Smith. 

Cloverbuds
The youngest members were also recognized for their participation in 4-H. Perry County Cloverbud members are Oliver Wahl, Noah Despain, Sawyer Orr, Jessi Weber, Gus Maddox, Elijah Sattler, and Maximus Pederson. 

First year members
Members that completed their first year of 4-H were given a certificate, 4-H pennant and a pin. First year members included: 
Joise Weber, Avery Craig, Otto Elder, Madison Neace, Eva Kohring, Connor Pederson, Addalyn Browning, Violet Nadler, Kaiden Kloth, Lee Rodenberg, Brantley Brightwell, Hayden Blair, Monabella Wahl, Izabella Despain, and Tanner Scheppelman. 

Graduating 4-H members
Cameron Severson, Libby Renner and Kaiden Kloth, were honored for their participation in 4-H and congratulated on their recent graduation.

Experience Award
The Experience Award offers recognition for members who participate in activities and events throughout the program year. Members are recognized for their experience in the areas of participation, leadership, community service and project learning. 

Bronze Medal Winners: Isac Smith, Lilyan Lehde, Logan Lehde, Otto Elder, Olin Elder, Hayden Blair, and Madison Neace. 
Silver Medal Winners: Leah Sattler, Micah Sattler and Lee Rodenberg.
Gold Medal Winners: Annabelle Pearce, Breanna Autry, Chase Smith, Sophie Rieckenberg, and Emma Rieckenberg. 

Those who received the top bronze, silver and gold member designation received a $100 scholarship to be used at 4-H camp, Illini Summer Academies or any other youth leadership conference within the next year. Scholarship recipients included:
Isac Smith and Logan Lehde (Bronze), Leah Sattler and Micah Sattler (Silver), Chase Smith (Gold), and Alaina Smith (Emerald).

Additional medal award winners include: Breanna Autry (Communications), Chase Smith (Leadership), Annabelle Pearce (Personal Growth), Sophie Rieckenberg (Project Mastery), and Alaina Smith (Community Service).

Electricity Award
The Energy Education council honored a 4-H member who did outstanding in their Electricity project. Micah Sattler was honored with the award. 

Alumni Award
Members who completed their last year of 4-H enrollment, due to age at the end of the 2022-23 4-H year were honored with a pin. Members honored included David Koester, Sara Stefani, Harris Ehlers, and Tyson Wilkey. 

Club leader recognition
Adult volunteers and leaders were recognized for their part in making Randolph County 4-H programs and clubs a success. Those honored were: 
Larry Kurtz, Jessica Weber, Allana Lehde, Clifford Harms, Sarah Koester, Stephanie Maddox, Tammy Wahl, Donna McBride, Nathaniel Neace, Elizabeth Neace and Kathleen Blair.
