Olney, Ill. – Richland County 4-H is striving to make the winter months a bit cozier. Now through mid-January, Richland County 4-H clubs and members are seeking the community’s support in gathering donations of personal care items and winter clothing for their Clean and Cozy New Year SWAN Drive.
Donations will be delivered to SWAN, a nonprofit organization and shelter in Olney. Examples of requested items include deodorant, toothbrushes, toothpaste, floss, razors, feminine hygiene products, socks, gloves, hats, coats, and men’s sweatpants in sizes large and extra-large.
Donations may be dropped off at the Richland County Extension Office, located at 306 S. Fair St., Olney, IL 62450. The office is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The office closes daily from 12-1 p.m. for lunch and will be closed Wednesday, Dec. 24, through Thursday, Jan. 1, 2026, for the holidays. Donations will be accepted through Jan. 16, 2026.
