Support Warren 4-H youth at BBQ

Why cook when you can pick up a delicious meal and support local youth? Dine-in, drive-thru, or carry out your dinner to help fund 4-H programs and scholarships for local youth.

The Warren County 4-H BBQ serves a delicious pork chop sandwich, baked beans, applesauce, chips, dessert, and a drink for the advanced ticket purchase of $8. Tickets can be purchased from your friendly neighborhood 4-H member or at the Warren County Extension Office. If you don’t have time to buy tickets early, purchase your tickets at the door.

Serving from two locations, pick the closest location to your home or office. The BBQ will be hot off the grill from the Warren-Henderson Farm Bureau located at 1000 N. Main St. in Monmouth, and from Hedding Elementary School located at 401 W. Latimer St. in Abingdon on Tuesday, June 7 from 4:30 until 6:30 p.m. Dine-in or pick up a delicious meal and take the night off from cooking.

Any questions can be directed to Shelby Carlson, 4-H youth development educator at (309) 734-5161.

If you need a reasonable accommodation to participate, contact Shelby. Early requests are strongly encouraged to allow sufficient time for meeting your access needs.

ABOUT ILLINOIS 4-H: Illinois 4-H is the flagship youth development program of University of Illinois Extension and administered through the College of Agriculture, Consumer, and Environmental Sciences.4-H grows true leaders, youth who are empowered for life today and prepared for a career tomorrow. The hands-on approach in 4-H gives young people guidance, tools and encouragement, and then puts them in the driver’s seat to make great things happen. Independent research confirms the unparalleled impact of the 4-H experience, demonstrating that young people are four times more likely to contribute to their communities; two times more likely to make healthier choices; two times more likely to be civically active; and two times more likely to participate in STEM programs.

ABOUT EXTENSION: Illinois Extension leads public outreach for University of Illinois by translating research into action plans that allow Illinois families, businesses, and community leaders to solve problems, make informed decisions, and adapt to changes and opportunities
