The University of Illinois Extension is a statewide network of professionals dedicated to creating local community impact and statewide transformation. We translate research and knowledge into practical programs for Illinois residents. Our programs target youth and adults, individuals and families, as well as business owners and community leaders.

Program Coordinator-West Carroll STEAM Grant- Applications taken until filled
Join our team! We seek a dedicated Program Coordinator to implement and support West Carroll STEAM Hub youth programs. This part-time position (28 hours/week) involves facilitating after-school and summer science, technology, engineering, arts, agriculture, and math programs for the West Carroll school district.
Location: Carroll County Office, 642 S East Street, Mt. Carroll, IL.
Compensation: Hourly wage $22.05. Mileage reimbursement for job-related travel. Flexible start and end dates.
Extension Program Coordinator (Ag and Natural Resources)- Applications through September 20, 2024
The Extension Program Coordinator will support and assist in managing the Master Gardener/Master Naturalist Volunteer programs and other Horticulture Extension-related programs for adults and youth in Whiteside and Carroll counties. This is a full-time civil service position, 37.5 hours per week, 7.5 hours per day. The expected start date is as soon as possible.
Location: Whiteside County Office, 12923 Lawrence Rd. Sterling, IL.
Compensation: Competitive salary, mileage reimbursement for job-related travel, vacation, sick leave, SURS retirement, and group health, dental, and vision.
Extension Program Coordinator (Marketing)- Applications taken through September 27, 2024
The Extension Program Coordinator works with aspects of marketing to develop strategic decisions to ensure Extension and 4-H brand images are recognizable to the public, are well-represented online, and are consistent offline in print, radio, or television. The Extension Program Coordinator works collaboratively with Extension staff to develop targeted strategies, identify the programming needs of the unit, and then work collaboratively to address those needs.
Location: Depending on the applicant's location to the closest county office.

Community Outreach Worker (Snap-Ed)- Application period closed August 23, 2024
The Community Worker will lead classes and provide information to local community members (adults and youth) in basic nutrition, physical activity, and food access for individuals and families in need. The goal is to help eligible families make positive changes for their health. This is a full-time civil service position, 37.5 hours per week, 7.5 hours per day, which supports the goals of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Education Program (SNAP-Ed) at the University of Illinois Extension. The expected start date is as soon as possible.
Location: Whiteside County Office, 12923 Lawrence Rd. Sterling, IL.
Compensation: Hourly wage $16.37. Mileage reimbursement for job-related travel, vacation, sick leave, SURS retirement, and group health, dental, and vision.
This is a security-sensitive position. Comprehensive background checks, including but not limited to a criminal conviction information check, a CANTS (Child Abuse and Neglect Tracking System) check, and a review of the Registered Sex Offender list, will be conducted.
